dead to the bone

i've grown up.

after skipping training for so long, i went back ytd.
now my whole body is sore. no stamina alr -.-

mr goh told us this story.
i've heard it a million times; you probably have too. but here it is anyw.

a caterpillar starts as an egg. it hatches, then eats and eats.
it then forms a cocoon around itself and begins to metamorphasise.
when it's about to emerge, the butterfly struggles to get out.
if you cut the cocoon to help the butterfly to get out, blood won't be forced into its wings.
it will never be able to fly.
in other words, you have killed the insect.

not word for word, duh.
but the meaning is there.
if he were to drop us to combined, we will survive, but never be able to soar.
to motivate anyone reading this post, i've fashioned another story.

a hardworking ant and a lazy ant were caught in a web.
since the spider was out foraging, they had a small window of time to escape.
the hardworking ant began gnawing on the web, whilst the lazy one sat there waiting for rain to break the web.
the hardworking one bit for a long time without any visible progress. the lazy one said 'why bother working so hard? the spider won't be back for a long time and it looks like it's going to rain.'
the hardworking ant replied 'i'd rather choose my own route than go where life take me.'
the lazy one said 'ah, suit yourself.'
an hour passed, and the hardworking ant managed to snap through the web. he said to the lazy ant 'i'd save you, but i don't want to risk getting caught again.'
the lazy ant laughed. 'you'd get caught by the spider! have fun!'
in two minutes the hardworking ant reached his nest.
the lazy ant just hoped. to his delight, it began raining.
sure enough, he broke free just as the spider was returning to its shelter.
he laughed, and a raindrop fell directly on to him.
the ant was stuck, and was eaten by the spider.

we can work. or we can hope.
working might not always help, but it prepares us for any opportunities.
hoping might get us where we want. but it won't get us out.

i'm not as good a writer as i want to be.
but all the same, i hope this helped readers somehow.

post- exam sian.

butterflies

hey guys (:

school was a drag today.
physics did worse than i expected, i don't even know where i went wrong.
english was.. good, but not up to my expectations. no, lower by a lot.
maths wasn't that sucky, though still not good enough.

gotta write an essay for mr goh later.
on how much i value success.

oh, and hey anonymous.
i've banned you and all your sad alter-egos from my cbox. cool huh.
i'm not gonna dedicate a long post to a loser like you, so HAHA.
what you gonna do now? hmm?

21st october 2009

one foot in hell and the other in wonderland.

as i look back on this incredible year,

childlike dreams

it seems as though only yesterday when i'd been sitting for my PSLE papers.
only hours ago when i'd entered east view for the first time.
a few minutes when i walked into 305.
and now, the big O's are almost upon us again.
time really flies.

in a few more years, it's over to NS, then work, and eventually, i'll die.
makes you wonder what life is about, doesn't it.

anyway, a maths wasn't that easy for me.
as expected, my killer subject was TRIGONOMETRY.
not only that, but i didn't know how to draw the damn graph.
cause i've been revising all along on logarithm graphs.
speaking of which, i left one question out. _l_

gotta clean up my house again. messy like wtf.

tired

if only you knew.

freaking tired. and my whole body's sore.
bit of a sad case, 4 hours at mac and completed a total of 4+ stupid questions.
but i'm proud of how far my logarithms have progressed (:
though i still suck at modulus graphs, trigo graphs and trigo.
esp proving. sucks sucks sucks.

reached home around 11 last night?
had this creepy feeling that somebody's following me home.
& some sleeping cat woke up and ran away when i passed it. _l_

i'm feeling very sian-ed over the coming holidays.
there's nothing to do. i'd rather be in school.
